Sony Ericsson T715: Beyond The Looks Is The Freedom Of 3G

Sony Ericsson T715

The Sony Ericsson T715 is freshly out from Sony Ericsson’s oven and comes as a fresh addition to the tasty T-series. This phone was released some time last month. Sony Ericsson is presently projecting the phone a “credit-card sized” phones due to it’s compact and small size. The phone comes in a smooth slide design and while the slide remains closed the phone looks pleasantly small. Moreover it’s also really light at a weight of just 96 grams. This is probably one of the cleanest designs from Sony Ericsson; there are absolutely no flashy exteriors and features. The phone has a very simple and neat look which renders a minimalist feeling in it. Just a 5-way navigation key in between the call receive and cancel keys on the main body and a simple sliding alphanumeric keypad with large and distinct keys.

The Sony Ericsson T715 is a quad-band device which should ensure good reception. Alternatively it also supports tri-band 3G service that allows fast HSDPA rates. The phone camera is a decent 3.15 mega pixel unit on the back and it also allows video-calling. Interestingly even though the phone lacks GPS, I was surprised to find the Google Maps application included in the phone. This phone uses the nearest mobile base as a key to locate it’s position on the maps. Even photos taken from the phone camera can be geo-tagged using the similar system. Messages can be conveniently sent and received in the phone in the form of SMSs, MMSs, Email and Push Email.

I find this phone a very good phone for everyday use as it includes most of the important features of the day like Class10 GPRS and EDGE, Bluetooth, USB, Stereo FM, Organiser, Voice memo and TrackID feature. It also comes with a very versatile media player that is capable of playing MP3, eAAC+, WMA, MP4, WMV and H.263 file formats.
