Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2: Equipped With X Factor
Sony Ericsson is presently the third largest manufacturer of mobile phones and a key player in the global market for mobiles. Following the hugely successful Walkman series and the CyberShot series of mobile phones, they have expanded their range with the induction of BRAVIA, UIQ and XPERIA brands in phones. The XPERIA series integrates the Windows Mobile Operating System into their powerful smartphones and the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 is the second and the latest addition in the line.
The concept of “Panel” is an innovative addition by Sony Ericsson to it’s user interface. Presently the X2 comes pre-fed with around a dozen panels and many more are available for download. I have been totally spellbound as far as the ergonomics and the design of this smartphone are concerned. This is one of the most dominating devices presently available and is the first Windows Mobile smartphone with an 8 mega pixel camera. The camera is definitely the central feature of this device and I am really impressed with the touch-focus feature in it. The camera interface should be a lot more easier to use . Moreover the photo editor/ blogger feature will allow me to edit captured pictures and start sharing and blogging them. The keys in the QWERTY keypad have a convenient layout and spacing that will certainly prevent multiple keys being pressed while typing.
You can now use the built-in YouTube application to watch and download some of your favourite videos. Moreover the media player is really versatile and can play most audio and video formats including H.263 and H.264 formats. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 also supports GPS and since it is a Windows Mobile 6.5 device there are also a wide range of SatNav applications available with it. With this top of the line 3G smartphone one can have speedy HSDPA @7.2Mbps. Hopefully this stylish and wonderfully efficient phone gets released in expected time as I can hardly wait to lay my hands on it and make it my possession.
